UNPHU Launches New Postgraduate Programs, Including a Doctorate in Basic Sciences with Physical and Chemical Specializations

These programs were created to address the country’s current needs in line with market and industry demand.

Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU), in response to global trends in knowledge and multidisciplinary training, has introduced new programs that expand its postgraduate offerings for doctorates and master’s degrees. Among these, two programs that significantly impact research stand out: the PhD in Basic Sciences, with a focus on Physical and Chemical sciences, and the PhD in Education Technology, conducted in collaboration with the Central University of the East, a key partner in this academic alliance. 

Similarly, the new master’s degrees were announced: in Real Estate Architecture and Development, Dental Aesthetic and Biomimetic Operatory; Construction Management, and Teaching and Educational Management.

This offer was created to address the current needs of the country, aligning with market and industry demand and in accordance with the UNPHU educational model, which centers on three main pillars: research, inclusion, and sustainability.

“These new programs reflect our commitment to sustainability, understood as the ability to provide relevant, innovative, and high-value education for the economic, social, and human development of our country,” explained UNPHU Vice-Chancellor of Postgraduate and Continuing Education Geisha Carpio.

The launch event was attended by UNPHU’s rector, architect Miguel Fiallo Calderón, the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology, Franklin García Fermín, and the coordinators of the new programs: Dr. Alberto Núñez, Dr. Rhadaisa Neris, Dr. Alberto Martínez, architect Mizocky Mota, engineer Rafael Ruiz, and teacher Moraima Peñaloza.
