UNPHU participates in the XXVII OFEDO-UDUAL Assembly 2023

Dr. Rogelio Cordero, director of the School of Dentistry at Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña, and current president of the Organization of Faculties and Schools of Dentistry – Union of Universities of Latin America (OFEDO-UDUAL); participated in the XXVII Assembly of 2023 of the organization, from May 25 to 26 of the current year at the Iberostar Paraíso Maya Suites Hotel in the Rivera Maya, Cancun, Mexico. The National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), through its Faculty of Dentistry and Secretariat of Extension and Linking, was the host institution.

This year’s theme in the Assembly was Trends in Education in Dentistry. Four themes were proposed to be analyzed: Design, innovation and curriculum evaluation, Simulation in undergraduate studies, Technological innovation, and Accreditation – Quality criteria. Workshops, panels, symposiums, and conferences related to the central theme were also held.

Among those present, the deans of international faculties of the different universities that make up OFEDO stood out. For UNPHU, Dr. Sheila Burdez, academic coordinator, was also present and currently serves as the executive secretary of the organization.
