UNPHU receives President Abinader as guest speaker for the graduation of 762 professionals

Universidad Nacional Pedro Henriquez Ureña (UNPHU) held in a presential format its 157th graduation, graduating in this version 677 grade students and 85 in post grade, for a total of 762 students; At this ceremony has also held the cut of the inaugural ribbon of the UNPHU Auditorium, Horacio Álvarez Saviñon.

The guest speaker of the ceremony was His Excellency, Mr. Luis Abinader Corna, Constitutional President of Dominican Republic, who received a certificate as Distinguished Guest of the University, granted in the hands of the Rector, Miguel Fiallo Calderon, Architect and from the President of the Pedro Henriquez Ureña University System, Raul De Moya Español, Architect. 

President Luis Abinader Corona expressed, “With your incorporation into the workforce of the country, with the well-deserved university degree, you will contribute with the strengthening needed to propel our nation; providing meaning to your aspirations, your efforts, and the commitments acquired on the day you decided to join the academic world.”

During the graduation speech, Architect Miguel Fiallo Calderón, rector of the university, addressed the graduates: “Superior education changes at an accelerated path, but is not enough facing the path of reality which advances; therefore, we cannot remain in just the learned up today, but to embrace the permanent education, actualization of knowledge.” 

From the career of Special Education, Laura Dickson Castillo was the valedictorian offering the words on behalf of the graduates.

At the ceremony, the Ministry of Superior Education, Science, and technology (MESCyT) was also present, Dr. Franklin García Fermin. 

The delivery of the academic titles was developed in three stages to maintain social distance. On Thursday 18 from 5:00 p. m. to 7:00 p. m. the delivery of certificates to represent students of all faculties and Post grades. 

On Friday 19, a stage at 9:00 a.m. with a student from the Faculty of Architecture and Arts, Agriculture and Natural Resources, Economics and Social Sciences, Humanities and Education, and Legal and Political Sciences. In the afternoon at 4:00, there was another session with the Faculty of Technology, Health Sciences, and Post grades.
