Dr. Rogelio Cordero is recognized by UNPHU

Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU), through the Department of Management of Institutional Experience and Graduate Management, recognized Dr. Rogelio Cordero, director of the School of Dentistry, in the second edition 2022- 2023. 

The graduate was selected for his outstanding professional and work career, as well as for the contributions made to society, with experience in private practice. Throughout his career as a dentist, he has maintained his interest in study and practice, staying close to his patients through the coordination, as a social task, of the days of surgical intervention for children with clefts of the lip and palate. 

This recognition is the highest award that the university gives to its graduates, considering the trajectory, contributions to society, professional, academic, business, cultural prestige and human quality. 

The scroll was given by the rector of the university, architect Miguel Fiallo Calderón, joined by Dr. Leonor Farray, Vice Chancellor of Postgraduate and Education and Laura Veloz, Director of Institutional Experience and Graduate Management.

The recognition ceremony took place on February 8, 2023, in the rectory of the university.

About Dr. Rogelio Miguel Cordero López

Graduated from the Graduate School – 1987, Graduated from Doctor of Oral Surgery at UNPHU in 1984 and later, from the postgraduate of Oral-Maxillofacial Surgery in 1987. He studied internships in the same specialty in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Puerto Rico. With experience in private practice as a dentist since 1987, he also serves as head of service of the Maxillofacial Department of the Juan Pablo Piña Regional Hospital. He is the current director of his alma mater’s School of Dentistry since 2006 and has served as president of the Organization of Dentistry Faculties, Schools and Departments in Latin America and the Caribbean since 2018. For more than 20 years, from the Children Who Laugh Foundation, dedicated to performing surgical days for the correction of cleft lip and / or palate in children. He is an honorary member of the Society of Maxillofacial Surgery of Venezuela and an honorary citizen of the Province of Espaillat. The Hispanic Dental Association awarded him an honor recognition for his professional career. He has published about his area of knowledge in the Journal of the Dominican College of Dentists and in the Journal AULA.

Active member of the Dominican College of Dentists, the Latin American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Traumatology and the Dominican Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
