Perinatal Medicine Day at UNPHU

Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU), through the Faculty of Health Science and its School of Medicine in coordination with the Dominican Society of Perinatal Medicine (SODOMEP), held the Day of Perinatal Medicine, Saturday, October 7, 2023, in the Conference Room of Building 3, first floor of the university. 

The conference included specialists in maternal and fetal gynecology, pediatricians, neonatologists, and neurologists. The main purpose of the activity was to introduce pre-boarding and internship students of the Medicine program in perinatal medicine, to establish improvements in the care of pregnant women and newborns.

The event included the following talks: What is Perinatal Medicine? By Dr. Yolanda Grullón; Advances in Perinatal Medicine presented by Dr. Gladys Cerda; Diagnostic methods in Perinatology by Dr. Agustín Díaz; Prematurity by Dr. Janna Henríquez; Perinatal morbidity from the point of view of Obstetrics, offered by Dr. José Ángel Garrido and to end Epilepsy and Pregnancy, taught by Dr. Luis Tusen.

The event was attended by health professionals interested in Perinatal Medicine, directors, coordinators, and students.
