Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña, its Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences and its Law School; in coordination with the Center for Research and Training of Electoral Justice and Democracy (CICJED), held the talk on electoral law and the role of the Superior Electoral Court of the Dominican Republic (TSE), with the participation of Aldo Rafael Mercedes, executive assistant of the office of the mayor. Pedro P. Yermenos Forastieri, presiding judge of the TSE.
The activity was aimed at creating a forum for academic exchange with the students at the university, where the basic foundations of Electoral Law and the jurisdictional role of the Superior Electoral Court were addressed, as the highest authority in electoral disputes.
The welcoming remarks were delivered by the dean of the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences, Dr. Juan Alfredo Biaggi, a judge of the Dominican Republic’s High Court. Also present at the event Patricia Pérez, director of the UNPHU School of Law.
This activity corresponds to the first of a series of talks that will be held in coordination with the CICJED.
