Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU), through its National Brain Bank, participated in the VII Day of Scientific Research of Universidad Abierta para Adultos (UAPA). As part of the keynote presentations, the topic of “Alzheimer’s disease, COVID-19 and dementia”, dictated by Dr. José Luna Muñoz, scientific adviser of the Brain Bank at UNPHU.
During the day, the exhibition of the Itinerant Museum “The Brain and neurodegenerative diseases” of the National Brain Bank at UNPHU was left open, which will be available until Saturday, August 13.
The ribbon cutting was done by the Josefina Pepín Ubrí, Vice-Rector of Research Projects, Linkage and Internationalization of UNPHU, Dr. Magdalena Cruz, Vice-Rector of Research and Postgraduate of UAPA, with the presence of Dr. José Felipe Guillén Sarita, Director of Special Projects at UNPHU and Francisco José García Perdomo, Coordinator of Linkage at UNPHU, as well as Dr. Oneida Carballo, Director of Investigations of UAPA, and the authorities of UAPA, and the public present.
UNPHU will continue to contribute to this interesting day, through the sponsorship of the conference “Alzheimer’s Disease”, given by Dr. Erika Jiménez on August 6; “Course/workshop for caregivers of patients with dementia”; on the 12th and 13th of the same month, and the conference “How to face the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease: different points of view”, given by Dr. Daisy Acosta, scientific director of our National Brain Bank UNPHU.
