Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU), and its School of Education, held the seminar on good practices: “Perspectives of pedagogical practices in the present day”. At the event, presentations were made of the different sections of teaching practice, and in each of them the skills acquired by students during the development of the subject were evidenced.
Professor Gelsón Navarro, Director of Training and Professional Development of INAFOCAM, presented his experiences in teaching practice during his initial training; he explained that it aims to promote spaces for the future educator to appropriate the basic knowledge and foundations, and develop the professional skills necessary to carry out his work.
The opening words were dictated by Patricia Matos, academic vice chancellor; while Dr. Javier Elena, national curriculum technician of MINERD, was in charge of the motivation of the event, in which he developed the theme: “Challenge of the curriculum design of secondary school for the training of the teacher of excellence”. He based his approach on making a paradigm shift in teaching while developing competencies. The event was led by students Perla Fraden and Gregory González.
The objective of the activity, which took place on August 4, 2022 in the Max Henríquez Ureña room at UNPHU, was to socialize the learning and experiences of students in teaching practice. Students from the different sections and professors from the host schools participated.
