Graduated from Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU), the School of Architecture and UNPHU Pride, doctoral architect Zamira Asilis of Estévez, was selected, together with nine prominent teachers of higher education institutions of the country, to receive the Annual Award for Excellence of the Teacher of Higher Education Institutions, given by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MESCyT).
This award seeks to promote quality in the professional performance of teachers at the highest level of the educational system, recognizing them for their personal, professional and academic achievements.
The official ceremony of the awards ceremony will be held on June 30 of the current year, Teachers’ Day, in a ceremony led by Dr. Franklin García Fermín, Minister of MESCYT. This award was created through Decree No. 122-22, issued on March 16 of the current year by the Executive Power.
About Dr. Architect Zamira Asilis de Estévez
Asilis de Estévez holds a PhD in Education from Nova South Eastern University; Miami, Florida. Graduated from the School of Architecture and Urbanism of the Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU), holds a master’s degree in High Management at the Technological Institute of Santo Domingo (INTEC), Master’s degree in University Management (MIGU), at the University Alcalá de Henares, Spain; Specialization in Cultural Management at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD).
He has held various administrative and academic positions at Universidad Católica Nordestana (UCNE), in San Francisco de Macorís, for a period of approximately 32 years. She has participated as a lecturer in numerous national and international congresses; and has been recognized by different institutions, including “Women of SFM” in 2011 and 2012; “Architect of the Year at the National Level” by CODIA, 2012 and “Pride UNPHU” by the Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU, 2015, among other distinctions.
