UNPHU receives Engineering re-accreditation for the longest period received in the country.

Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña National University (UNPHU) received the visit of representatives of the accrediting Greater Caribbean Regional Engineering Accreditation System (GCREAS), on which occasion the certificate of reaccreditation was given to the Faculty of Science and Technology, and its School of Civil Engineering, for a period of five years, the longest that has been granted in the country to a School of Engineering.

The commission was composed of Dr. Radhamés Mejía, international vice-president and Dr. Hugo Pirela, executive director. The delivery was made to the Rector Arq. Miguel Fiallo Calderón, Engineer Doris Peña, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology and Engineer César Mercedes, Director of the School of Civil Engineering. 

GCREAS is a private, independent, non-profit institution dedicated to ensuring the quality of higher education in engineering in the Caribbean countries. Also the career of Chemical Engineering, has this prestigious accreditation at UNPHU, an institution that holds among other important international accreditations, the Accreditation Council Business Schools Programs, (ACBSP) granted to the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences, with its careers in Accounting and Auditing, Business Administration, Marketing and Hotel and Tourism Administration. The Faculty of Architecture and Arts is accredited by the National Accreditator of Programs of Architecture and Disciplines of Living Space A.C. (ANPADEH), a body formally recognized as a non-governmental accreditor of academic programs of higher education at the levels of bachelor’s degree, university technician, or associate professional, based on its technical, legal and financial capacity.
