Two students of the School of Psychology of Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU), obtained the fourth place in the research competition «Constructing the Data”, developed by the Ombudsman. The study entitled “Psychosocial Intervention Plan for the Inclusion of Persons with Motor Disabilities” is a proposal that seeks to reduce barriers that prevent compliance with Law No. 05-13 on Disability, as well as the development of public policies in favor of persons with special needs.
Students Melissa Cerracchio and Laura Hernández carried out a qualitative information survey, which showed the need for a proposal to create a platform that integrates the institutions that work with motor disabilities, and that facilitates the channeling of special services that people with this condition require. This would provide for greater inclusion and facilitate compliance with the Law and the Constitution of the Republic.
The general objective of the proposal was focused on developing a public policy plan for psychosocial intervention for the inclusion of people with motor disabilities in the National District, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
On behalf of the university’s staff were the Francisco Garcia, Linking Coordinator of the Vice-Rectory Research Projects, Linking and Internationalization and Dr. Dulvis Mejía, research adviser teacher.
