The School of Hospitality and Tourism of Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU), participated in the XXIII University Gastronomic Festival, organized by UNAPEC, in which they were winners of the first place.
In addition, students received the most awards in the areas in which they were nominated.
The UNPHU team was represented by 16 students and the leading student chefs Ana Lebrón and Ana María Aguasvivas, standing out for their passion, dedication, and discipline.
About the Gastronomic Festival
The festival invites a different country every year. This time it was the Republic of Turkey, to make its culture known through gastronomy. This initiative has allowed the students of Hospitality and Tourism of the universities, to learn about the cuisine of the different countries, their culinary secrets, ingredients, and techniques; allowing to have a global coverage.
