The UNPHU Emprende Center, in collaboration with the Ministry for Young People, held the “Sabor a Juventud” activity with the objective of analyzing the entrepreneurial potential of young people from the Casas de Pensiones for the project on social innovation being carried out by the ministry together with the projects of the Entrepreneurship Center.
Attending the activity were Licenciado Yasser Jordán, Vice Minister for Entrepreneurship in the Ministry for Young People; Lic. Elvin Castillo, the head of Bienestar Estudiantil; Engineer Juan Enrique Rosales, director of the UNPHU Emprende Center, and Engineer María Leonor Machado, entrepreneurial adviser from the UNPHU MIPYMES Center.
The event was held in the UNPHU Conference Hall, and was attended by 82 young people in the morning and evening sessions. The activity revealed not only the entrepreneurial potential of these young people, but also the agricultural, manufacturing, touristic and technological potential present in the provinces of Barahona, Independencia, Hato Mayor, Yamasá, San Juan, and Sánchez Ramírez.
The UNPHU Emprende Center supports entrepreneurial initiatives, innovation, and business creation, and is available to serve the university community and the community at large through its services of consciousness-raising in the process of integral support to its clients through activities such as workshops, contests, and mentorships.
