The Dominican Association of Faculties and Schools of Medicine (ADOFEM) with the presence of its deans, directors and its president, Dr. Miguel Robiou Kranwinkel, dean of the health area of INTEC and the methodological and logistic team of the National Strategic Plan of Health (PLANDES) 2030, held a meeting in the Hall Padre Alemán of the Ministry of Economy, Budget and Development (MEPyD), in Santo Domingo. The event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Strengthening and Development of the Health Sector, Miguel Rodríguez Viñas; the technical coordinator, Dr. Reynaldo Peguero; and technical consultant Dr. Cecilia Buchanan. The central objective of the participation of the academies in the diagnosis, was the formulation and implementation of PLANDES 2030, towards the future vision, strategies, and projects of health especially to the human resources within the National Health System.
The deans and directors of the Faculties of Health Sciences, members of ADOFEM, compose in degree, superior technical and postgraduate (specializations) human resources in health such as doctors, nurses, laboratory technicians, pharmacy, dentistry, among others; they analyzed future proposals and projects to be presented with the consensus of ADOFEM. The addressed topics were such as the context of training with quality of the medical residences that support the universities; the review and update of the ENURM (Single National Examination of Medical Residencies), the internship of Law, the curricula and mapping thereof, inclusion in health and services, the situational diagnosis of what type and where we need HR, national and international accreditation, comparability, the role of ADOFEM in the homologation and certification, the presence in Law 42-01, science, technology and humanism and health work with the community.
Following the swearing-in of the chairmanship of the commissions for PLANDES 2030, the official decree and the definition of the key sectors to be involved in the various thematic areas identified, and the complete collection of key information are still pending.

The President of ADOFEM, Dean Dr. Miguel Robiou, expressed his satisfaction with the meeting and thanked the Ministry of Public Health and its representative, Vice Minister Rodríguez Viñas and the technical team, and mentioned the formation of a management committee for the preparation of the various proposals that would be selected.
