Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña National (UNPHU), through the Vice-Rector’s Office for Research, Linkage and Internationalization Projects and its Faculty of Architecture and Arts, launched the scientific journal Entropico, with scientific rigor, dedicated to the fields of architecture and urbanism research.
Entropico is a scientific journal that acts as a communication channel for original research that seeks to foster dialog and reflection among researchers, professionals, academics, and all interested in the fields of architecture, urbanism, design, and sustainability. It is understood as a space open to creativity, to show advances, analyze and discuss, with scientific rigor, architectural challenges.
Entrópico is an international magazine with a special focus on the Caribbean and Central America. The journal is published electronically on a continuous basis, with semi-annual packaging. It publishes historical essays, theoretical, critical, urban analysis, interviews, applied research, research articles, architectural and urban scale projects. Jobs in Spanish and English are welcome. The journal is edited by an expert editorial team and is supported by a national and international Scientific Committee. Papers submitted to the journal are arbitrated by national and international double-blind peers. All people associated with the journal, subscribe to the Shanghai Declaration of Integrity of Scientific Research and Good Scientific Publishing Practices. The resolution of potential conflicts will be done through the application of COPE protocols.
The aim is for published articles to respond to the language of architecture and design, by making creative use of the possibilities of the digital world. In addition to supporting multimedia figures, the articles can be accompanied by other materials, renders, photographs, and plans that are not included in the article, for which the author can attach a complementary dataset. The magazine is from Open Access.
Architect Omar Rancier serves as chairman of the scientific committee, as editor-in-chief, architect Heidi De Moya Simó; and as associate editor, Dr. architect Gilkauris Rojas Cortorreal.
