Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU), and its Human Management Directorate, conducted the Basic Life Support Course for brigadiers, led by Dr. Aime Paola Valdez Matos, an instructor. This training is part of the training and education process of the brigade team, which promotes a culture of prevention.
The training aimed to equip the participating teams that make up the brigades of the different facilities of the university with the basic principles and rules of action in situations of medical emergencies. Also, learn how to identify life-threatening events, the importance of time in an emergency, how to provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and how to use an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED), among other life support techniques.
The course was developed under the theoretical and practical methodology with clinical simulation. Participants put into practice the concepts issued by the instructor.
The activity took place in building 8, in the COSMOS Simulation Center of the university.
