On World Recycling Day, which is celebrated on May 17 of each year, Universidad Nacioanl Pedro Henríquez Ureña and its Environmental and Natural Resources Directorate, held the conference Waste, Recycling and Sustainability, by Engineer Yvelisse Pérez, representative of the Ministry of Environment (MIMARENA).
The conference presented the latest developments in waste management at the national level, and the Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Lines. The point of collection of UNPHU, how they can contribute to this and other types of waste, was also discussed.
The activity aimed to raise awareness among those present about the negative impact caused by the daily actions of individuals on the environment, as well as the importance of sorting waste and the advantages offered by recycling.
The event was aimed at the entire UNPHU community; it was held in the Conference Room of Building 3, first floor.
