Fourth Seminar on Psychological Research and Intervention at UNPHU

Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU), its Faculty of Humanities and Education and its School of Psychology, held on Tuesday 10 and Wednesday 11 October 2023, the Fourth Seminar on Psychological Research and Intervention; with the aim of providing a space for learning and discussion around practices, promoting the exchange of knowledge and experiences between professionals and students.

The first day of the seminar presented topics oriented to the research line of legal psychology and psychosocial intervention. The speakers were Dr. Ángel Prieto, International Guest of the University of Murcia, Spain; Pat Olga Galán Laureano, academic coordinator of the UNPHU School of Psychology; and Psychology graduate students Nathalia Perroni and Seliné Bodre. 

On Wednesday 11th, topics addressed were focused on the research of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapeutic Intervention, which counted on the participation of Dr. Balduino Acosta, methodological advisor; Leslie Espinal Gutierrez, graduate of the School of Psychology; Angelina Sosa, co-founder of the Institute of Mental Health and Telepsychology of Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo and Laura Hernández Acosta, a graduate student in Psychology.

On behalf of the university were Geisha Carpio, dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Education; Adrian De Óleo Dean of Student Welfare; Dr. Claudia Acra, Director of Research; Marisol Guzmán, director of the School of Psychology; Dr. Miguel Ángel Moreno, research coordinator of the academic vice-rectory; and graduates Rudelania Valdez, Elizabeth Jiménez, Juana de Los Santos, Raldania Pérez, and Hamlet Arias, teachers of the school, in addition to students from the different areas of specialization of Psychology. 

The event was moderated by Dr. Dulvis Mejía, research professor and Frederick del Valle. They also participated in the choice of topics presented by Alexia Jape and the Elk. Jesús Peña, in charge of Undergraduate Work of the Faculty.
