UNPHU and ITLA sign partnership agreement

Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña National University (UNPHU) and the Technological Institute of the Americas (ITLA) signed a collaboration agreement with an indefinite duration. 

This agreement seeks to create a strategic alliance that facilitates cooperation between both academic institutions of education, which have technical fields of common interest and are committed to academic-professional training that contributes to the development of the socio-economic and educational-cultural processes of Dominican society, through the application of scientific, technical and pedagogical advances as fundamental premises for the construction of new structures of thought, according to the interests of our country.

In order to make this collaboration viable, both parties committed to develop joint research projects on topics of mutual interest, as well as the dissemination of knowledge through different educational tools. 

The agreement also includes business and technical advice on entrepreneurship, as well as the use of the facilities of both entities for the realization of various educational activities and the development of cultural activities. Finally, it contemplates the development of a program of prectices and internships.

The signing of the agreement took place in the university’s Rectory on July 12, 2022 between Architec Miguel Fiallo Calderón, Rector of UNPHU and Engineer Omar Méndez Lluberes, Rector of ITLA.

During the signing, were present at UNPHU Patricia Matos, Vice-Chancellor; Engineer Héctor Santillán, director of the School of Informatics and for ITLA, were Marien Castillo, head of the ITLA and Graduate Department, Cristhian De Haza, Legal Director, ITLA.

About the ITLA

The Institute of Technology of the Americas (ITLA) is a technical institution of higher education, founded in 2000 by the Dominican State. The only one specialized in technological education in the Dominican Republic. It has won several awards for the prestige and quality of its services, among them, the National Award for Quality given by the Ministry of Public Administration of the country, becoming the first academic institution to receive the award.
