UNPHU Law Students Successfully Conclude Immersion Internship in the U.S. Legal System

SANTO DOMINGO, D. N. October 2025

Five students from Universidad NacionalPedro Henríquez Ureña Law School (UNPHU) had the opportunity to participate in an intensive internship program across various courts in the United States as part of the University’s professional training with a global perspective.

The Immersion in the U.S. Legal System program allowed interns to gain a unique academic and practical experience from September 22 through October 3.

The students accompanied U.S. magistrates, who explained firsthand the workings and complexities of the country’s justice system. Adempas visited various courts and the Capitol, where they closely observed the impact of judicial work and government structures, gaining a comprehensive view of how the rule of law functions.

Students also visited the Courts and various law firms, where they saw legal theory applied in professional practice.

The UNPHU students who experienced this enriching experience and will now share their knowledge with the university community are as follows:

Patricia Canahuate Ferreira, Ana Ureña Acosta, Sean Manuel Cabrera Pockels, Ilvangie Beltré and Carina Michelle Castillo Hurs.
