Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña, through the Faculty of Health Sciences and its School of Medicine, participated in the regular meeting of the Dominican Association of Faculties and Schools of Medicine (ADOFEM), represented by Dr. William Duke, dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Eduardo Garcia, Associate Dean and Claudia Scharf, director of the School of Medicine.
The meeting was chaired by the president of ADOFEM, Dr. Miguel Robiou Kranwinkel, dean of the Health area of INTEC, together with the deans and directors of the Medical Schools member of ADOFEM. The meeting took place on Thursday, March 30, in the Conference Room of the France I building of UNIBE. The participants were received by the Dean of the School of Medicine Dr. Marcos Núñez Cuervo, also President of FEPAFEM.
Among the main topics addressed: the status of the new regulations of medical residences by the National Council of Medical Residencies, the decisions on ENURM and the formation of an ADOFEM commission for the construction of the proposal that was sent to the presidency, and proposals by the Ministry of Public Health to disseminate information on health technology.
While Dr. Edison Minaya, in charge of the training of Citizen Ethics of PROETICA, on behalf of Mr. Marino Serrano, presented the importance of Ethics and Bioethics in universities, and invited a workshop on the 26th and 27th with PROETICA where they will address the training, research and diagnosis of human resources.
The dean of UCE, Dr. Rosa Céspedes, announced the decision of the Superior Council of UCE, that the next congress will be dedicated to the memory of the past director of the School of Medicine, Dr. Ingrid Japa, and the opening of the contest to that position. The Dean of the UASD Dr. Mario Ufre thanked the members of the ADOFEM for their participation in the ENURM 2023.
The representatives of the faculties of the different universities UASD, PUCMM, UNPHU, O&Med, UCE, INTEC, UTESA, UNIREMHOS, were present at the meeting and UNIBE as a host with excuses UCATECI and UCNE.
The next regular meeting will be on April 20, 2023, with UCATECI as its headquarters.
