UNPHU will successfully hold its 8th Chair of the Magistrate Dr. Jacqueline Malagón with the participation of Dr. José Joaquín Puello.

Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU) received Dr. José Joaquín Puello, a renowned neurosurgeon of international prestige, as a lecturer in the framework of the celebration of the Eighth Chair Dr. Jacqueline Malagón, an event of high academic level that constitutes an essential space for dialogue for the educational community.

In his opening remarks, the Rector of UNPHU, architect Miguel Fiallo Calderón, said: “Dr. Puello’s participation offers an extraordinary opportunity to reflect on the links among brain, word, and thought. This interaction between education and science calls us to rethink teaching methods, value the transcendence of knowledge, and recognize that each word has the power to shape a child’s mind, inspire vocations, and transform society.”

This important Chair has been held continuously since 2018 in tribute to the trajectory and dedication of Dr. Jacqueline Malagón, a distinguished university graduate. 

Professor Dr. Jacqueline Malagón has become one of the most significant forums for thought and knowledge at the university level. Its annual celebration underscores UNPHU’s continued commitment to educational quality and the dissemination of experiences that transcend the classroom, inspiring new generations of professionals. 

Dr. Malagón has been a pioneer in creating numerous educational, academic, social, and, in general, human resources training institutions, and has also been the main promoter of the institutionalization of the awards for excellence in various sectors of national life.
