Music Invades Santo Domingo with the UNPHU 2025 Winter Concerts

The School of Music of Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU), announces the celebration of its 2025 Winter Concerts, a series of free performances that will play a wide spectrum of genres such as: Pop Jazz, Classic Rock, Funk, Reggae and many more sound horizons.

Programming begins with the Cultural Exchange Concert on December 5 at 9:00 PM at the Dominican Fiesta Hotel. Then, on December 9, the Irish Pub will host the Assemblies concert featuring Brazilian, Pop Rock, and Pop Jazz, starting at 8:45 PM. The series continues at the Irish Pub on December 13 at 8:45 PM with a special Anime Music Tribute Concert. Finally, the Winter concerts conclude on December 16 at the Rocknolla Bar at 8:30 p.m. with an Assemblies concert focused on Classic Rock, Funk, and Reggae. 

The community, students, and music lovers are invited to support UNPHU’s emerging talent at these musical encounters that showcase the quality and versatility of their academic training.

The bachelor’s ensembles are led by a select group of high-caliber teachers: Lic. Sly de Moya, two-time Cassandra Award winner Rigo Zapata, Maestro Edgar Zambrano, and Maestro Hussein Velaides. The events will be held at established venues such as the Dominican Fiesta Hotel, Irish Pub, and Rocknolla, with free admission to all functions.
