Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU), through its departments of Cocurricular Activities, and the Department of Letters, Philosophy and History and Geography, carried out a reading of poems on the International Poetry Week, which took place from October 20 to 26 in Santo Domingo. Ten international and national poets participated, who read their texts and held a meeting with the students.
The participating poets were Edda Armas, Rolando Kattan, José Alejandro Ayuso, Juan Matos, Carmen Imbert Brugal, Ramón Saba, and, as hosts, the poets Alejandro Aguilar, director of the Department of Foreign Languages, and Alberto Garrido, director of the School of Philosophy and Letters of UNPHU.
The event was held in the Conference Room in Building 3.
