Universidad Nacional Pedro Henriquez Ureña (UNPHU) collaborates as part of the committee for the vaccination plan against COVID 19, as a strategic support for the coordination at national level as academic institution.
This operation in performed under the coordination of the Department of Public Health, where the faculty and students will have the availability to volunteer with the follow up for the population and communities to be vaccinated against COVID-19, accordingly to decisions of the health authorities.
Dr. William Duke, epidemiologist, dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at UNPHU and coordinator of the control response and prevention of COVID-19 at institutional level is the focal point representing the University.
Is estimated that the vaccination process will start at the beginning of 2021, starting by the first line staff and those more vulnerable, to be latter distributed in the country by inclusion, age and defined conditions.
