Universidad Nacional Pedro Henriquez Ureña (UNPHU) through the Faculty of Health Sciences and with the alliance of Observe TB, the National Program of Control of Tuberculosis from the Department of Public Health, and the Dominican Association of Family Planning (ADOPLAFAM) addressed the webinar on the World Day against Tuberculosis, with the title: Roll of the civil society to achieve the goal of the end of TB for 2035 worldwide, and the importance of the interventions with Observe TB.
At the exposition, they introduce the challenges for Latin American countries to eradicate the disease, millenary and modern affection that is still handled from the perspective of biologists. They also indicated that this disease should change in approach.
The health system, weaknesses, inconvenience to diagnosing the disease, psychological support, and the importance of creating support programs.
The exhibitors were: the coordinator of the Coalition of the Americas and Social Observatory, Dr. Hanna M. Henao V. Ph.D. Social Sciences from Colombia; Máximo de Jesús Secretary Observe TB in the Dominican Republic; Dr. Belkys Marcelino, MSP, TB Consultant and as moderator, Dr. William Duke, dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at UNPHU.
