Conferencia “Sistema de Salud Español y Soporte Vital Básico”.
(UNPHU) enhanced international academic exchange through the conference “Spanish Health System and Basic Life Support,” which saw participation from more than 80 medical students. This initiative is part of the academic cooperation agreement between UNPHU and the University of Barcelona, through which nursing professionals pursue a master’s degree in Critical and Emergency Care under the guidance of educators such as Dr. José María Alfin and other European specialists.
The day was led by nursing graduates and critical and emergency care specialists, Roberto González and Elena Antoñanzas, who shared their clinical experiences gained in European hospitals. Additionally, a practical workshop on evaluation and management of patients in cardiopulmonary arrest was held, with a focus on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) techniques, supervised by Dr. Mario de Jesús Valdez, who is in charge of the COSMOS Simulation Hospital at UNPHU.
Dr. William Duke, Dean of the School of Health Sciences, emphasized the academic impact of the activity, highlighting its importance in training future health professionals. The event was organized by Medical student Annette Madera and the Student Advisory Board of the School of Medicine.
