The Pedro Henríquez Ureña National University (UNPHU) and the National Institute for Teacher Training and Formation (INAFOCAM), celebrated the act of induction of the second group of 29 high school graduates who entered through the university into the Excellence in Teacher Training Program, which is promoted by the Dominican Government to improve learning in students from the public education sector.
Those students entering to take a Bachelor´s Degree from the UNPHU in Mathematics oriented towards Secondary Education come from the National District and the province of Santo Domingo.
Architect Miguel Fiallo Calderón, Rector of the UNPHU, took the occasion to encourage new-entry students to take advantage of the opportunity that the Dominican state is offering them, as they are responsible for training the future generations the country needs so there can be a well-qualified new generation within a new paradigm of education promoted by MINERD.
For her part, Ms. Carmen Reynoso, INAFOCAM´s head of Scholarships, described the students as a group privileged to be part of the 17% who fulfilled the requirements to enter the program.
