We Can All Win a Million Opportunities

 

 

With the objective of encouraging and consolidating the growth of entrepreneurs and connecting them on a global scale, the Pedro Henríquez Ureña National University (UNPHU) and its UNPHU Emprende Entrepreneurship Center held a panel discussion on “We Can All Win a Million Euros” with the winner of the global contest of Get In The Ring, Luis David Sena.

Luis David Sena, with his project of Edupass, travelled to Singapour where he competed and was crowned the winner of the light-weight category in the competition of Global Get In The Ring, taking home 1 million Euros.

Edupass is a start-up that connects students with universities from around the world, and helps them to make the most important decision about what to study, where to study, and how to pay for those studies through scholarships.

Engineer Juan Enrique Rosales, the director of UNPHU Emprende and the UNPHU MIPYMES Center, pointed out that “The work that the entrepreneurship center has been doing responds to the role defined by the vision of the Pedro Henríquez Ureña National University and its commitment to community outreach.”

Luis David Sena challenged those present that they, like him, can all win a million opportunities.

The activity was held in the university´s Horacio Álvarez Saviñón Auditorium, with those on the dais including Mr. Claudio Doñe, director of the Community Technological Centers (CTC); the entrepreneur Luis David Sena, founder of Edupass; Engineer Juan Enrique Rosales, director of UNPHU Emprende and the UNPHU MIPYMES Center; Engineer María Leonor Machado, entrepreneurship advisor for the UNPHU MIPYMES center; and Engineer Julio Arvelo, entrepreneurship advisor to the UNPHU MIPYMES Center.

UNPHU Emprende, the center for entrepreneurial initiative, innovation, and business creation, has, between 2012 and 2017 delivered valid and verifiable results in its activities, achieving a position of leadership in the ecosystem of University Entrepreneurship in the Dominican Republic.

Through its offerings of services, the center covers four stages in the value chain of entrepreneurship: Consciousness-Raising, Identification, Formulation, and Start-Up.  The service is available for the entire community.  With its support you too can win a million opportunities.
