With initiatives like these, the institution reaffirms its academic and scientific leadership
In the framework of the First Congress on Educational Identification and Support to Students with High Intellectual Capacities of the Dominican Educational System, Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU), presented its Touring Museum of the National Brains Bank, an initiative that has been widely recognized for its innovative and educational approach.
This event highlighted the importance of the Itinerant Museum in making scientific knowledge accessible to the public, raising awareness, and providing training on neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s.
Architect Hermes Concepción, representing UNPHU, delivered the conference “Boosting my skills with artificial intelligence,” where he discussed how digital tools can strategically support the development of talent and cognitive skills in students with high intellectual abilities.
The event, organized by the Directorate of Special Education of the Ministry of Education of the Dominican Republic (MINERD) and coordinated by Lucía Vásquez Espínola, was attended by leading international experts, including Carmen Sanz Chacón, President of the El Mundo del Superdotado Foundation (Spain); Manolo Salvado, Director of Talentum Altas Capacidades Intelectual (Spain); and Evelyn Campos, Director of the Fundación Altas Capacidades de El Salvador.
This initiative reaffirms UNPHU’s dedication to scientific outreach, educational excellence, and university social responsibility. Through such actions, the university strengthens its academic and scientific leadership, actively fostering a more inclusive and innovative education aimed at developing human potential in the Dominican Republic.
The event took place at the National Library Pedro Henríquez Ureña.
